LPGA BANK OF HOPE MATCH PLAY 2022 PREDICTIONS

LPGA Bank of Hope Match Play
- Shadow Creek Golf Course
- Defending Champion Ally Ewing

Shadow Creek can be bullied by players who bomb it off the Tee. They can't just hit it anywhere though. This Tom Fazio places an emphasis on proper positioning in order to attack many of these Greens. Some of the Pin positions are practically inaccessible if you are on the wrong side of the Fairway for your Approach shot.

To win at Shadow Creek will require Accuracy off the Tee, and great Putting on the Greens. It will also require a fair amount of stamina because Match Play events require a lot of golf to emerge victorious. With the LPGA U.S. Open around the corner don't be surprised if some of the players relax a bit if they get off to a slow start. With that in mind my Group picks include a lot of upsets.

Some turn-ups there, Cobe. I've stiill got 3/7 live (Vu, HJ Choi, Sagstrom), though Vu would be my best result. But the standard of golf in that tournament has generally been abysmally poor, even allowing for the fact it's not an easy course - many matches have been won by default, as in who can score the fewest bogeys? And I think in most matches, where they have completed a 15+-hole round, both players have been over par!!! What a lot of shockers!!! I think Vu can go all the way, since she is one of very few players with respectable scores through the 3 rounds, if you ignore the H-t-H factor.

Yeah not the best golf indeed. My picks are pretty much out of it. At this point anyone can win really.

Looks like you got 7/16 winners, Cobe, not bad. I got 5/7 of my bets home R1, including Lilia Vu, who's a real chance in this, I think. A few surprises, but not really unexpected. Should be some form reversals tomorrow. Even Aditi the Plodder managed a win, albeit by default, since she only scored a par round thru 17 holes!!!

Yeah some very slow starts for some. Today will be the true indicator of who is truly invested in the tournament. Don't be surprised if a couple of the favorites check out early due to the loss yesterday.

Kang has had a couple WDs this year. It's only for that reason I don't trust her. I am big on Ciganda in Match Play and like veterans Ariya Jutanugarn, and So-yeon Ryu as well.

If Danielle is 100%, given what an aggressive player she can be (and I think you have to chance your arm a bit in match play), she should be thereabouts at the end - 28/1 is a good price for such a 'class' player. The Thai girls are generally not very fit. Ten Koreans in this, but the way the draw panned out Lee6 might be the best of them. Ciganda is underrated and was good last time - she's probably played more Solheim Cups than anyone else in that field, so at 55/1 she's a bit over the odds. But it is wide open - I bet 8 players to win only, a mix of favs and long-shots, wit…

It looks like most of the top seeds should cruise through group play. Thitikul's side of the draw looks to me like a tougher path to the final. I don't like Thitikul in this - she should get to the Q-F, but could then come up against Madsen or Ciganda, both very experienced at match play; and if she gets past them she may have to take on H-J Kim or Green in the S-F.

I'm going for Danielle Kang and Hannah Green to be the last two standing - I think they're both very fit players, so they'll go the distance.

But there are some good odds - Madsen and Ciganda on one side of the draw, and Danielle,…
